Preparing
for surgery

Before undergoing any surgical procedure it is important to know the details of a correct surgical preparation. Regarding this, we also help you with simple steps to follow.

+ INFO

Avoid certain medicines

In general avoid aspirin and derivatives, ibuprofen and natural herbal medicines that sometimes cause blood-thinner actions. Tell us if you have any additional question about any medication that is not prescribed by our center.

Trust your doctor

You can take a pill to sleep the night before the operation, always under medical prescription. Let us know if you have a cold, flu, fever, or any other illness.

Smoking and plastic surgery

Smoking is a major risk for wound healing problems and infection for any surgical procedure. Smoking should therefore be stopped At Least 6 Weeks Before considering surgery. Nicotine gum and nicotine patches are also not allowed, as nicotine is a “vasoconstrictor” that can be detrimental to wound healing and can promote complications.

Blood reserves

Usually blood loss in our interventions is minimal, but we usually recommend to our patients that they consider the suitability of donating a unit of their own blood at least 3 weeks before the intervention for the purpose of preventing an autotransfusion.
